The Savings Package: a prepaid savings
As low as $500 for $1200 value package, depending on your income.
You do not have to sign up for the Marriage/Couple Therapy Package if you prefer to have a session with Dr.Tom first so you can meet him and get a feel for his style of therapy. You and he can decide if your situation indicates more sessions, and you can decide whether to just set up week by week appointments, or whether you want the Marriage/Couple Therapy Package, a savings for pre-paying, which includes testing, some free sessions, and is designed for success. Regular sessions are $95 (lower if you qualify for sliding scale), but the best savings and results are the Marriage/Couple Therapy Package. After your first session, if you decide to do the package, you can roll the cost of the session into the package cost, so you don’t have one session charge on top of the package charge.
Marriage/Couple Therapy Package — $1500 value, save up to $550
A program designed to deal with hurtful issues from the past, halt destructive patterns, break through barriers to achieve greater understanding, connection and intimacy, through research-based interventions and exercises, it is a structured, goal-oriented, scientifically-based course of therapy. The program is intentional, focused, and with dedicated effort by the couple, can result in complete repair of the relationship, because the underlying issues are dealt with once and for all, and a variety of new relational skills learned.
Length of therapy program
The program is designed to last 12 weeks; research has shown that couples who complete at least 3 months of counseling have a much higher success rate. Several reasons for this are:
- After 3 or 4 sessions, a couple sees such improvement that they may be tempted to stop counseling before the problems are really dealt with, and if they are not in a committed program, they fall back into the same problems.
- Habits and patterns of reaction take a few months of relearning, and it is important to have the counselor involved in addressing these as they re-occur.
- Many new skills to bring better communication, connection, sharing, and harmony must be learned and practiced. To achieve a great relationship, these new skills must be learned, practiced, and established; this cannot be done in a few sessions.
If one of the couple has issues with feeling that their mate is not committed to working on the relationship, the very decision to commit to the 12–week therapy program gives immediate feeling of increased trust and ability to believe that there can be a resolution to the problems.
Agreeing to put the one hour per week of therapy on high priority in both partners’ schedules also goes a long way emotionally to helping with the healing process.
Agreeing that they both think trying to save their relationship is worth the cost also gives each a sense of value in the relationship. The partner feels that they are worth more to their partner than other things regularly purchased.
The therapy can progress rapidly, without lapses where the couple can regress, and the momentum builds week by week, with ever increasing positive results.
The couple and the counselor agree on the best day and time for their therapy, and they all mark their calendars for 12 weeks, dedicated to reaching the goal. Nobody else can get on the schedule at their time.
What is the cost?
The package value is $1500, including 12 sessions, tests, inventories, and access to Dr.Tom’s personal email and phone for crises. Your actual rate may be further discounted according to a sliding scale according to income:

Annual household income between $30,000 and $60,000: $750

What to expect from the marriage/couples therapy program
The first few sessions, the counselor will hear the couple share their hurts or problems, he will discover the underlying issues layers, and then re-orient the focus from the past to the present and the future. He will give the couple inventory tests, share the results, and custom design the sessions to incorporate exactly the skills the couple needs to learn, as they move through the stages of recovery.
The sessions are non-threatening and confidential, and will offer hope in the most hopeless of situations.
The basis of Dr.Tom’s therapy is rooted in the Judeo-Christian heritage and scriptures, but the precepts are applicable to all people, and have stood the test of time.
